Job summary

MAV Project Services is seeking a senior HSE professional to lead safety at our project sites in Texas. You will oversee contractor activities, manage a team of Safety Techs, and drive a zero-incident culture through audits, investigations, and proactive training.

The role emphasizes hands-on field work, strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, and leadership in safety programs across construction sites. Excellent communication and problem-solving are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in a related HSE field.
  • OSHA 30 hours training in construction required.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Strong technical HSE knowledge in construction; electrical safety, energy isolation, P&IDs.
  • At least 10 years of construction HSE site experience.
  • Lead HSE/Site HSE Manager role at sites for 10+ years.
  • Good communication and positive contractor monitoring attitude.
  • Ability to impart training and lead HSE orientation.
  • Majority field work performing HSE inspections and corrections.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safety support at the project site and oversee contractor activities.
  • Lead a team of Safety Techs and plan their activities to support project goals.
  • Oversee daily Work Permits and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform accident investigations including root cause analyses.
  • Implement corrective actions to stay compliant with regulations.
  • Monitor contractors' safety programs and perform periodic HSE audits.
  • Lead daily safety inspections and report findings to site management.
  • Develop and implement local safety training and campaigns.
  • Lead and implement a strong Safety Observation program.
  • Work predominantly in the field performing inspections and corrective actions.

Job description

What you will enjoy doing*
  • In this role you will provide safety support at the project site, oversee Contractor activities
  • You will provide effective leadership to a team of Safety Techs and plan their activities to support the project team’s goal to maintain a zero – zero safety performance
  • You will oversee Work Permits on a daily basis, identify improvement opportunities and initiate necessary actions
  • Further you will perform accident investigations including Root Cause Analyses of injuries, illnesses, and key incidents
  • Perform corrective actions following citations or safety incidents to remain within compliance of occupational and health regulations
  • You will be in charge to monitor contractors' safety programs, perform periodic HSE audits
  • You will also lead sample safety inspections everyday, identify good practices and improvement opportunities, report findings to site management and follow up at the same time to ensure timely conformance
  • You will help develop and implement local safety training and campaigns to maintain a positive safety culture
  • You should be able to implement and lead a strong Safety Observation program
  • Also, you should be willing to work majority of the working time in the field performing HSE inspections, observations, and help correct UA&UCs

  • You are expected to have a LEAD HSE / Site HSE Manager role at job sites for at least10 years
  • Having good communication skill, a positive attitude towards contractor monitoring and HSE management
  • Ability to impart training, lead HSE orientation are necessary skills
  • You should be willing to work majority of the working time in the field performing HSE inspections, observations, and help correct UA&UCs
