Job summary

Amentum seeks a Junior RF Engineer to perform RF test, evaluation, integration, and configuration checks on US Navy warfare systems as part of NSWC Electromagnetic Effects Division. The role requires hands-on analysis, test planning, and reporting, with a focus on E3 and RF environments.

The candidate will analyze EW, communications, and radar systems, develop test plans, and publish detailed results. A SECRET clearance and US citizenship are mandatory for this position, located in Dahlgren, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or technical discipline.
• One year of RF/microwave test and evaluation experience.
• Experience with MATLAB and RF modeling/simulation software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Project).
• Active SECRET US Government Clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform RF test, evaluation, integration, and configuration evaluations.
• Develop detailed test plans; participate in test planning meetings and test readiness reviews; perform RF/E3 testing.
• Gather, reduce / post process, and analyze result data;
• Prepare and publish detailed test reports; review technical documentation; and contribute to technical meeting support.

Job description

The Junior Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer will perform RF Test, Evaluation, Integration, and configuration evaluations of US Navy warfare systems in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Electromagnetic Effects Division (B50).

Junior Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer Essential Responsibilities Include:

• Performing environmental Electromagnetic Effects (E3) Computation and RF Modeling and Simulation
• Performing analyses of Electronic Warfare (EW), communication, and radar systems
• Developing detailed test plans; participate in test planning meetings and test readiness reviews; performing RF / E3 testing
• Gathering, reducing / post processing, and analyzing result data;
• Preparing and publishing detailed test reports; review technical documentation; and contribute to technical meeting support

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
• One (1) year of experience in theoretical and practical aspects of RF / microwave test and evaluation.
• Experience with MATLAB and RF modeling/simulation software applications.
• Experienced with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Project, etc.).
• Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Electrical Engineering degree with focus on RF / microwave / antenna engineering
• Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following specific areas: RF Engineering and analysis; E3 /
• Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) / Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC); RF Computation and simulation.

Compensation Details:

US: $80,000 to $100,000
