Job summary

vineyard vines is seeking a Junior Retoucher to support high‑volume image production for Campaign, Ecomm on-figure and laydown photography, and Social Media. You will combine traditional retouching with AI-assisted imaging, maintaining color management standards and image quality across channels.

The role partners with the Director of Imaging and E‑Commerce Art Director to drive consistency, efficiency, and innovation in workflows while meeting deadlines and upholding our brand guidelines.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of retouching experience in commercial photography, fashion, retail, or E‑Commerce.
  • Strong Photoshop skills including masking, compositing, cleanup, color correction, and non‑destructive editing.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted imaging tools and imaging workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Retouch Campaign, ecomm on-figure and laydown photography for vineyard vines and other customer-facing channels.
  • Maintain consistent product color, skin tones, garment details, backgrounds, shadows, and overall image quality.
  • Understand and uphold established color management standards and best practices.
  • Execute retouching, cropping, file preparation, and naming conventions within established deadlines.
  • Follow Vineyard Vines corporate image guidelines and photography standards.
  • Partner with the Director of Imaging and Art Directors to continually improve image quality and retouching efficiency.
  • Coordinate with Art Directors, photographers, studio operations, sample management, and other partners to support imagery from capture through final delivery.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume studio environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Use approved AI-assisted imaging and retouching tools to improve workflow efficiency while maintaining image standards.
  • Support testing of emerging AI tools for masking, cleanup, color adjustments, background work, image extension, compositing, and repetitive production tasks.
  • Partner with the Director of Imaging to identify manual processes that can be automated or accelerated.
  • Assist with controlled AI image-creation testing for E-Commerce, including alternate colorways and PDP imagery.
  • Help develop repeatable AI workflows, prompts, presets, Photoshop actions, and automation processes for the Imaging team.
  • Document successful AI-assisted workflows and contribute to an internal library of approved processes.
  • Stay current on emerging retouching, imaging, automation, and generative AI technologies.

Overview

Reporting to the Director of Imaging, the Junior Retoucher — supports high-volume image production for vineyard vines across Campaign, Ecomm on-figure and laydown photography, and Social Media.

This role combines strong traditional retouching, color management, and image-finishing skills with emerging AI-assisted imaging capabilities. The Junior Retoucher will partner closely with the Director of Imaging and E-Commerce Art Director to maintain vineyard vines image standards while helping identify and implement new tools, automation, and AI workflows that improve quality, consistency, and efficiency.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, strong communicator, detail-oriented problem solver, and someone who is excited about the evolution of digital imaging.

Key Responsibilities:
Retouching & Image Production

Retouch Campaign, ecomm on-figure and laydown photography for vineyard vines and other customer-facing channels.

Maintain consistent product color, skin tones, garment details, backgrounds, shadows, and overall image quality.

Understand and uphold established color management standards and best practices.

Execute retouching, cropping, file preparation, and naming conventions within established deadlines.

Follow Vineyard Vines corporate image guidelines and photography standards.

Partner with the Director of Imaging and Art Directors to continually improve image quality and retouching efficiency.

Coordinate with Art Directors, photographers, studio operations, sample management, and other partners to support imagery from capture through final delivery.

Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume studio environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

AI-Assisted Imaging & Workflow Innovation

Use approved AI-assisted imaging and retouching tools to improve workflow efficiency while maintaining vineyard vines image standards.

Support testing of emerging AI tools for masking, cleanup, color adjustments, background work, image extension, compositing, and repetitive production tasks.

Partner with the Director of Imaging to identify manual processes that can be automated or accelerated.

Assist with controlled AI image-creation testing for E-Commerce, including alternate colorways, image variations, backgrounds, image extensions, and additional PDP imagery.

Help develop repeatable AI workflows, prompts, presets, Photoshop actions, and automation processes for the Imaging team.

Document successful AI-assisted workflows and contribute to an internal library of approved processes and best practices.

Stay current on emerging retouching, imaging, automation, and generative AI technologies and share relevant opportunities with the Director of Imaging and E-Commerce Art Director.

Quality Control

Perform quality control on traditionally retouched and AI-assisted imagery before final delivery.

Review images for product accuracy, color consistency, garment construction, logos, patterns, textures, shadows, crops, and unwanted artifacts.

Compare AI-assisted outputs against original photography, product samples, and approved references to ensure accurate product representation.

Identify and correct AI-generated inconsistencies or inaccuracies before imagery reaches customer-facing channels.

Maintain a high standard of image consistency across categories and seasons.

Support the development and documentation of measurable Imaging quality standards.

Demonstrate the ability to listen carefully, communicate clearly, and collaborate with partners at all levels of the organization.

Effectively receive, interpret, and implement creative feedback.

Demonstrate strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.

Take on ad-hoc imaging and E-Commerce projects as needed.

Continuously develop traditional retouching skills while building knowledge of emerging imaging technologies.

Understand and adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.

What You Bring:

Strong understanding of the vineyard vines brand and lifestyle.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in photography, digital imaging, graphic arts, or a related field.

2–3 years of retouching experience in a commercial photography, fashion, retail, or E-Commerce environment preferred.

Strong Adobe Photoshop skills, including masking, compositing, cleanup, color correction, and non-destructive editing.

Experience with Capture One and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Strong understanding of color management, color theory, and digital image production.

Knowledge of commercial printing and CMYK workflows.

Strong experience working within Mac environments.

Familiarity with Photoshop AI capabilities and AI-assisted imaging tools preferred.

Interest in generative AI, computational imaging, workflow automation, and emerging image-production technology.

Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated imagery and identify artifacts, product inaccuracies, color shifts, and unwanted image changes.

Ability and willingness to quickly learn new AI platforms, imaging software, and proprietary internal tools.

Familiarity with Photoshop Actions, batch processing, automation, or similar workflow efficiencies preferred.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced studio environment.
