Position Overview: We seek a full-time Junior Research Scientist to support the Joint Intermediate Force Capabilities Office (JIFCO). The role involves providing technical and research management support for activities related to non-lethal weapons (NLW) effects, including non-lethal human effects (HE). The candidate must communicate complex concepts effectively and handle administrative tasks for the JIFCO Applied Research and Technology Development (ARTD) team. Responsibilities include resolving technical NLW human effects issues, planning, designing, monitoring, and evaluating NLW effects programs and projects.

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: On-site at JIFCO HQ in Quantico, VA

Anticipated Start Date: 06/01/2025

Responsibilities include:

1. Developing technical reports on NLW technology development and compliance data.
2. Creating and updating research plans based on scientific hypotheses.
3. Reviewing project deliverables and managing documentation and archiving.
4. Preparing scientific briefings for various venues.
5. Documenting research findings and recommendations on NLW human effects.
6. Preparing financial plans and annual program reviews.
7. Coordinating HERB meetings and managing related documentation.
8. Tracking project status and maintaining management data.
9. Organizing meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting proceedings.
10. Drafting trip reports.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a physical, biological, or behavioral science; Master’s preferred.
• At least one year of experience in scientific research.
• Active Secret Clearance eligibility.
• Ability to work on-site in Quantico, VA.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
