Job summary

Nucor Rebar Fabrication Southeast in Lexington, NC, is seeking an early-career CAD detailer. You’ll learn detailing in RebarCAD and build knowledge of the reinforcing bar industry while supporting project execution from estimating through fabrication and installation.

Responsibilities include creating placing drawings, communicating with clients and engineers, and processing change orders to maximize branch returns. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Vocational certificate (or enrolled) in CAD design/drafting OR related degree from an accredited school.
• At least six months experience using AutoCAD and Windows based software.
• Able to read architectural/engineering blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Develop working knowledge of AutoCAD and the detailing system (RebarCAD).
• Develop basic knowledge of reinforcing bar industry including reference material (CRSI/ACI).
• Detail simple projects with minimal assistance (foundations, walls, footings, piers, slabs, stairs, retaining walls).
• Submit placing drawings for approval and ensure conformance to QA and placer/shop requirements.
• Process change orders to maximize returns for the Branch.
• Maintain all deliveries for fabrication.
• Communicate with customers, placer and Architect/Engineer; submit RFI as required.
• Coordinate with Detailing Manager to pre-order specialty items.
• Follow projects from estimate to detailing, fabrication and installation.
• Participate in weekly safety and workloads meetings.
