Job summary

GM Performance Power Units LLC – Concord, NC is seeking a Junior Quality Engineer to join the Metrology Lab. You will support dimensional inspection and quality assurance for power unit components, gaining hands-on experience with advanced measurement equipment and data analysis.

This onsite role offers exposure to FIA regulatory requirements, first article inspections, calibration, and collaboration with engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Up to 2 years in manufacturing/quality/engineering environment.
• Basic understanding of metrology, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
• Experience with measurement equipment through coursework or internships.
• Familiarity with CMMs and metrology software preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections of power unit components using metrology equipment.
• Develop and execute measurement routines for new and existing components.
• Collect, analyze, and document measurement data to support teams.
• Assist with first article inspections and component validation.
• Maintain inspection records and quality documentation in systems.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and FIA regulatory requirements.
• Support calibration and maintenance of lab equipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of measurement processes.
