Job summary

7Seventy is seeking a Junior QA Engineer to establish a QA function for a React Native mobile app on iOS and Android. The role will start with manual testing, then progress toward UI/UX regression automation and reusable test fixtures.

You will use TypeScript and Node.js to investigate defects, build tools, and simulate POS terminals, working closely with engineers and product managers. As the first dedicated QA member, you will shape testing processes, tool choices, and quality metrics while

Qualifications

• Proficient in writing scripts/small services and debugging async code.
• Knowledge of React/React Native concepts and UI rendering.
• Familiar with SDLC and QA concepts, including test plans and bug lifecycle.
• Strong attention to detail and methodical problem solving.
• Able to work independently in ambiguity and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Create end-to-end manual test plans for iOS and Android and execute them for new features and releases.
• Translate requirements into reusable test cases and maintain a growing test library.
• Identify, document, reproduce, and track defects with precise steps, validating fixes with developers.
• Use Node.js and TypeScript to inspect logs, API traffic, and root causes.
• Conduct exploratory testing to catch edge cases across devices/OS versions.
• Help establish bug reporting standards, release checklists, and test docs.
• Begin developing automated UI/UX regression tests for the React Native app.
• Develop test fixtures and mocks for POS terminal behavior to reduce hardware reliance.
• Assist in selecting/testing tools and integrating tests into CI/CD pipeline.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers in planning and releases.
