Job summary

Airbnb is seeking a Software Engineer in Quality Engineering to help build and maintain automated tests and test tools. You will collaborate with product engineering to develop testable systems, drive test automation across the pyramid, and contribute to scalable quality processes.

A background in web tech and AI-enhanced testing is preferred, with strong communication in English and a BS in CS/engineering.

Qualifications

2+ years of industry experience in software engineering and testing.
Experience with web development in at least one language (TypeScript/JavaScript) and backend languages (Java/Kotlin/Python/Go).
Strong knowledge of test automation methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
Hands-on with web automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress).
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and version control.

Responsibilities

Build, maintain, and utilize automated tests; ensure robust test coverage for features/releases.
Leverage AI/tools to implement test automation strategy across unit, service, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Improve automation frameworks to support new functionalities and optimize quality.
Collaborate with CI/CD team to integrate automated testing into pipelines.
Debug issues found during testing and after release; verify bug fixes.
Contribute to a high-performance team, ensuring code quality and operational excellence.
Work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment with short release cycles.
