Job summary

Elmhurst Hospital Center seeks a psychologist to provide professional services across diverse settings, including forensic clinics. The role requires a doctoral degree in psychology and NYSED licensure within two years of appointment.

You will engage in clinical interviews, administer tests, prepare reports, and collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
• Valid limited permit to practice as a Psychologist issued by the NYSED.
• Valid license and current registration to practice as a Psychologist issued by the NYSED must be obtained within two (2) years of appointment to title.

Responsibilities

• Through clinical interviewing and/or testing, evaluates emotional and intellectual functioning.
• Maintains records of test performance and treatment results.
• Prepares reports of psychological findings for case histories or files.
• Consults with psychiatrists, social workers, judges and other relevant parties regarding diagnoses and disposition.
• May oversee psychology interns, social workers and paraprofessional staff.
• May participate in treatment programs administering psychotherapy.
