Job summary

Cornerstone is hiring a Junior Project Manager to support impact window and door projects, starting in estimating with an intended path into project management as the department develops.

You will review construction documents, determine materials and configurations, and document assumptions clearly to produce accurate, plan-aligned estimates. Collaboration with sales and project teams will be essential, with ongoing documentation and adherence to product callouts.

Qualifications

• Education in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
• 2+ years of estimating, construction documentation review, or related role.
• CAD software experience preferred or willingness to learn CAD.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural plans, schedules, specifications and related project documents to understand scope.
• Identify and document required windows, doors, openings, configurations, finishes, and glass requirements for pricing.
• Determine appropriate products based on design, conditions, code, and customer needs.
• Follow specified manufacturers and products called out in plans or documents.
• Obtain and prepare information needed to request vendor pricing.
• Prepare complete, accurate project estimates with materials, quantities, and pricing.
• Verify estimates for accuracy and alignment with plans and scope.
• Document assumptions, exclusions, alternates, and upgrades clearly.
• Finalize estimates and provide to salesperson or team for review and customer delivery.
• Maintain organized project documentation and align with estimating/project management workflows.

About the Role

Cornerstone is combining its estimating and project management departments and is hiring a Junior Project Manager to support impact window and door projects. This role begins with estimating responsibilities, with an intended path into project management as the combined department develops.

Success in this position means producing accurate, plan-aligned estimates by carefully reviewing construction documents, identifying required materials and configurations, and documenting assumptions clearly. The transition from estimating to project management will depend on readiness and department needs, with no fixed promotion timetable.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Review architectural plans, schedules, specifications, and related project documents to understand required scope.
• Identify and document all windows, doors, openings, configurations, finishes, glass requirements, and other elements needed to price the project.
• Determine appropriate products for each project based on design requirements, building conditions, code requirements, and customer needs.
• Follow specified manufacturers and products when they are called out in the plans or project documents.
• Identify missing, unclear, or conflicting information that may require clarification before pricing.
• Obtain, organize, and prepare information needed to request vendor or manufacturer pricing when required.
• Prepare complete, accurate project estimates, including appropriate products, options, quantities, and pricing.
• Verify completed estimates for accuracy and ensure alignment with the plans and requested scope of work.
• Document assumptions, exclusions, alternates, and recommended upgrades clearly and consistently.
• Finalize estimates and provide them to the appropriate salesperson, project manager, or team member for review and customer delivery.
• Support the combined team by maintaining organized project documentation and staying aligned with estimating and project management workflows.

Requirements

• Education in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 2+ years of experience in estimating, construction documentation review, or a related role (entry-level candidates are welcome).
• CAD software experience is preferred, or a willingness to learn CAD software.
• Ability to review architectural plans, schedules, and specifications with accuracy and consistency.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to translate construction documents into accurate pricing inputs.
• Working knowledge of windows and doors concepts, including common configurations, finishes, and glass requirements.
• Comfort working with product specifications, requirements, and manufacturer callouts.
• Ability to identify gaps or inconsistencies in documentation and raise questions early.
• Clear, professional communication skills for documenting assumptions and coordinating information within the team.
• Organizational skills to manage estimate inputs, quantities, options, and pricing details.
