This is a salary position. Pay dependent on education, experience, and performance.
Junior Project Manager Responsibilities and Duties (Essential Job Functions):
- Administration including Request for Information (RFI's), Architectural Supplemental Information (ASI), submittals, Request for Quote (RFQ) change management, contract closeout, and claims mitigation.
- Data entry of project take-offs.
- Submittals, logs, books, vendor & GC coordination.
- Order scheduling, tracking & updating
- Creation and addition of QA/QC sheets for each new project.
- Creation of MR’s as necessary.
- Creating RFI’s pertaining to basic constraints, questions and or concerns.
- Compile and distribute project close out documents
- Monitor the purchase of all major equipment with lead times and oversee purchase of materials to ensure budgets are on track
- Facilitate QA/QC process and ensure that Field Managers, General Superintendents and other project team members are engaged in the process and generating necessary documentation
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, developing cost estimates, and establishing critical project objectives.
- Ensure projects are executed per client's governance, company standard operating procedures, and project management standards, codes, and procedures.
- Manage contract administration including Request for Information (RFI's), Architectural Supplemental Information (ASI), submittals, Request for Quote (RFQ) change management, contract closeout, and claims mitigation.
- Manage small projects with oversight of Project Managers.
- Perform any other duties or tasks that may be assigned by Project Managers
Junior Project Manager Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma, or General Equivalency Diploma, or GED.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar preferred. PMP certification is a plus.
- Must have 1-3 years of recent experience as a Project Management Assistant, Project Coordinator, or Project Engineer in construction, preferably in the fields of Plumbing or HVAC.
- Must support UMC's Vision, Mission, and Core Value statements, demonstrate a high degree of integrity and maintain the confidentiality of personnel and business information.
- Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, initiative, and communications skills.
- Possess effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret operating manuals, plans, and applicable building codes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and possess the aptitude to learn and use additional computer software as needed, i.e., Bluebeam, Procore, etc.
- Must be able to use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; hear; sit; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; climb or balance; stand; walk; lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be 21 years or older, have a valid driver's license, clean MVR, pass a physical and drug test, be authorized to work in US and be able to drive in adverse road conditions
