Job summary

GMRE is seeking a detail-oriented Project Cost Accountant I to join our Program Finance team in Ogden, Utah. This role supports government contract cost management, including expense review, cost tracking, invoicing, and reporting.

The ideal candidate has accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail. Government contracting experience, especially with travel regulations, is preferred. Hybrid schedule with three days in the Ogden office.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting systems; strong Excel skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
• Knowledge of GAAP and government contracting basics.

Responsibilities

• Manage and track travel expenses and related costs for programs.
• Review and approve employee expense reports per JTR/FTR and policies.
• Establish and maintain project charge codes.
• Track labor, travel, materials, invoices; ensure accurate cost reporting.
• Update project spreadsheets and forecast templates with approved data.
• Support AP/AR, invoicing, reconciliations, and financial tracking.
• Coordinate budgets, forecasts, and cost variances with Program Managers.
