Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team. You will support planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting on projects, collaborating with project managers and teams to ensure schedule integrity and cost control.

Ideal candidates bring basic project management knowledge, strong communication skills, and familiarity with Primavera and EcoSys. The role involves travel and a hybrid work arrangement to balance field and office work.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements and/or eligibility for a US government security clearance.
• Entry level knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts.
• Good teamwork and collaboration skills in fast-paced environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication with various staff levels and vendors.
• Entry knowledge of Enterprise Project Portfolio Management tools (Primavera).
• Basic knowledge of Project Performance tools (EcoSys).
• Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients.
• Ability to handle multiple requests and balance priorities.
• Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel; organizational skills to balance workload.

Responsibilities

• Supports compliance with internal procedures and federal regulations; gathers progress data and updates schedules and resources.
• Under supervision, develops and maintains integrated critical path schedules for routine projects.
• Generates earned value and project status reports; analyzes cost and resource trends.
• Uses document management protocols to store and retrieve project records.
• Performs other duties as required.
