Job summary

Polytope Research in Jersey City, NJ, is seeking an entry‑point Production Trader to supervise automated trading systems and respond to market and system events in real time.

You will work with the Portfolio Manager to enhance performance, understand trading platforms, and maintain risk/compliance standards. This role offers growth into senior trading, research, or strategy development paths.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field (computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or similar).
• Experience with trading systems, execution workflows, and risk monitoring.
• Familiarity with high-frequency trading concepts and low-latency systems.
• Able to work flexible hours and provide weekend/public holiday coverage on a rotation.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with the trading team to operate and implement trading strategies.
• Launching, supervising, and shutting down Polytope's trading activities on global markets.
• Triaging real-time alerts and coordinating with the trading and engineering teams to resolve production issues.
• Coordinating with risk, operations, and compliance to assess live trading and respond to unusual market behavior.
• Flagging real-time alerts and working with the trading team to resolve issues in real time.
• Documenting, monitoring procedures, and logging production issues as they occur.
