Job summary

MIRATECH in Houston, TX is seeking a Junior Production Scheduler to support the development and maintenance of production schedules aligning customer demand with material availability, labor capacity, and manufacturing priorities.

The role requires 1–2 years of related experience and a high school diploma (associate degree preferred). You will collaborate with Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Production to ensure on-time delivery and continuous improvement of the scheduling process.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred in business, supply chain, manufacturing, or related field.
• One to two years of experience in production control, scheduling, manufacturing, inventory, order management, or related role preferred.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, work orders, bills of materials, routings, lead times, and production capacity.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems for work orders and scheduling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creating and maintaining daily and weekly production schedules based on demand, capacity, materials, and delivery requirements.
• Review open work orders, backlog, due dates, routings, and production status to confirm priorities and identify conflicts.
• Coordinate with production supervisors and team leads to confirm labor/equipment capacity and adjust priorities.
• Partner with Purchasing and Inventory Control to verify material availability and communicate shortages or constraints.
• Track work order progress and follow up on delays, bottlenecks, or quality holds.
• Communicate schedule changes and revised dates to internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Prepare schedule updates for daily production meetings and document follow-up actions.
• Maintain production planning reports, schedule boards, backlog lists, and related tools.
• Analyze schedule adherence, work order aging, past-due orders, and production trends.
• Escalate material, capacity, quality, or workflow issues that affect committed dates.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, schedule accuracy, and on-time delivery.
