  • Prepares route sheets, shop packets, part numbers, and shipping documents.
  • Maintains communication with customers, sales offices, and plant departments to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Monitors and adjusts inventory levels, lead times, and storage space; initiates physical counts.
  • Expedites needed parts to meet scheduled production and revises plans as necessary.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of unresolved scheduling issues and collaborates with supervisors as needed.

Position Summary

The Junior Production Planner plays a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by developing and coordinating production schedules, managing inventory requirements, and ensuring materials and resources are available to meet customer demand. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift based on customer needs and production requirements. Qualified candidates must be able to work an on-site schedule at our Baldwin, WI plant.

Role Responsibilities
  • Supports the planning and developing of weekly production line schedules of assigned departments based on the master schedule plan. In addition, may schedule rework, unfinished parts and assemblies, new production releases, and special orders.
  • Helps prepare all necessary support materials for scheduling which includes ordering route sheets, preparing shop packets, establishing part numbers, reviewing orders for accuracy and ability to build, entering all requirements into the computer, and preparing shipping documents.
  • Assists with establishing effective communication with various groups such as customers, sales offices, Corporate, and plant production departments to ensure the on‑time delivery of products through monitoring orders from start to finish.
  • Helps to manage plant inventory levels which includes ordering the correct quantities, determining the appropriate lead times, tracking the available storage space, and identifying reasons that require inventory adjustments and correcting the cause. Initiates physical inventory counts.
  • Expedites and secures parts needed for production by the time they are scheduled for production.
  • Helps to make or recommend revisions to planned production schedules as necessary when schedules cannot be met which includes planning and preparing backup schedules and directing production supervisors on utilization of personnel.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of unresolved production scheduling issues requiring attention.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of production control experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in supply chain, Business, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience creating reports and performing data analysis using Oracle or other ERP systems
  • Basic coding or report building experience
