$65,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr
Aegis Worldwide is actively seeking a Junior Production Engineer to support production operations by improving safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will develop, optimize, and maintain welding processes while implementing automation, new technologies, and process improvements to meet production goals and reduce downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously improve safety, quality, and productivity in manufacturing operations.
- Develop new welding processes and enhance existing methods.
- Identify and implement projects to reduce equipment downtime and manufacturing costs.
- Drive initiatives to minimize environmental impact of manufacturing processes.
- Introduce automation and advanced technology to maintain or increase production efficiency.
- Optimize material flow and production capacity to meet demand forecasts.
- Manage improvement projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Maintain a safe work environment and remain alert to potential hazards.
Welding-Specific Responsibilities
- Design and develop welded assembly fixtures that meet quality, durability, and serviceability standards.
- Analyze and resolve product quality issues using engineering drawings, inspection reports, and mechanical understanding.
- Research, procure, install, and optimize welding equipment to increase efficiency.
- Support strategic initiatives to reduce welding man-hours by automating manual operations.
- Work with automated GMAW welding equipment, including robotic systems (experience preferred but not required).
- Serve as the technical expert in assigned support areas, proactively implementing improvements to safety, quality, and productivity.
- Collaborate daily with production associates and equipment suppliers to resolve process issues.
- Report to the Production Engineering Manager and provide hands‑on support to manufacturing and maintenance teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
- 2–5 years of hands‑on experience in a manufacturing or welding environment preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods, including welding, cutting, turning, and milling.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings and measurement methods.
- Strong technical aptitude for troubleshooting and problem‑solving equipment and processes.
- Ability to work hands‑on and organize multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong computer skills, including preparing detailed reports and process justifications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work professionally across all levels of the organization.
