Job summary

The Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a Process Engineer for the IGCC facility near Edwardsport, Indiana. You will oversee process equipment performance, troubleshoot, and drive maintenance improvements aligned with safety goals.

You will work with operations and maintenance teams to resolve field issues, review data, and support Process Safety Management activities while pursuing reliability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
• Two years of engineering experience minimum.
• Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and troubleshoot design, operation, and maintenance problems; contact internal and external experts as required.
• Review data (flow, pressure, temperature) to ensure proper process conditions.
• Work with a team to support plant equipment and field troubleshooting.
• Develop simple engineering solutions to complex problems while adhering to code requirements.
• Participate in Process Safety Management activities (MOC, PHA, incident investigations).
