Job summary

Engtal in Dallas–Fort Worth is seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to join our growing commercial construction team. This role is ideal for an early-career estimator looking to build preconstruction experience while working with an established group.

You will support the preconstruction process from initial bid through project handoff, gain exposure to a variety of commercial projects in the DFW market, and collaborate with senior estimators, operations, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• 3-10 years of construction, estimating, preconstruction, or related experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
• Internship or field experience with a general contractor is a plus
• Basic understanding of construction drawings and specifications
• Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, OST, BuildingConnected, or similar software is beneficial
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
• Motivated to develop into a well-rounded estimator and preconstruction professional
• $90,000-140,000 base salary, depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity takeoffs, pricing, bid preparation, and scope reviews
• Review drawings, specifications, and other construction documents
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals
• Assist with bid leveling and scope comparisons
• Maintain subcontractor and vendor relationships
• Support conceptual estimates and budget development
• Participate in preconstruction and project handoff meetings
• Help maintain historical pricing and estimating databases
• Work closely with senior estimators, preconstruction managers, and operations teams
