Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

Compensation:

110K - 115K based on experience. After one year, 130K - post completion of in-house training program

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Physician Assistant (PA) to join our healthcare team. The PA will work under the supervision of a licensed physician to provide patient care, perform medical examinations, and assist in treatment plans. This role is ideal for a newly graduated PA or an individual with limited experience who is eager to gain hands-on clinical experience. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Ryan Health.

Essential Functions
  1. Participate in weekly 90-minute training classes facilitated by Thrive AP Primary Care Program, including didactic sessions and professional development training.
  2. Carry an abbreviated patient caseload consistent with quality of care and productivity standards.
  3. Render medical services expected of an internist or family practitioner: examine, diagnose, and treat medical illnesses, evaluate health status, initiate therapeutic and preventive measures, and make referrals to specialists. This includes management of general internal medicine and outpatient HIV care.
  4. Communicate regularly with other healthcare providers and staff regarding patients’ health needs.
  5. Complete all necessary documentation, including progress notes, forms for data collection, reimbursement, and regulatory agencies.
  6. Attend medical staff meetings and conferences as required.
  7. Maintain professional competence through participation in external conferences and continuing medical education.
  8. Participate in teaching paramedical personnel about diagnostic and therapeutic activities.
  9. Order and review laboratory tests, follow up on results, and refer high-risk patients for physician evaluation.
  10. Participate in peer review and quality improvement activities.
  11. Attend departmental meetings as required.
  12. Maintain professional knowledge through ongoing education.
  13. Report problems or unusual occurrences immediately to the supervisor.
  14. Maintain a professional, courteous attitude with patients and staff.
  15. Practice infection control measures per OSHA standards and center policies.
  16. Provide age-appropriate care based on patient demographics.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Skills
  • Entry-level role. Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Studies program.
Education, Licenses, and Certifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Studies program.
  • Current New York State License to practice.
  • Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
  • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (PA-C) certification.
  • DEA certificate.
  • Infection control and CPR/BLS certifications.

Working Conditions

Primarily in a primary care setting, with potential exposure to infectious diseases and unpredictable behaviors. Adequate precautions are necessary.
