Job summary

Catalent in Kansas City is seeking a Pharmaceutical Development Scientist I to support formulation and process design for oral solid dosage forms and participate in clinical trial manufacturing. You will ensure compliance with GMPs and SOPs while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This onsite role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and the ability to manage timelines under pressure to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related life science or physical science field with 6+ years of related work experience preferred;
• Master’s degree in a related life science or physical science field with 4+ years of related work experience preferred;
• Doctorate degree in a related life science or physical science field with 0+ years of related work experience preferred;
• Ability to proactively address work issues at both an individual and team level;
• Ability to propose deviations from established procedures and methods based on sound judgment;
• Experience developing and executing procedures, methods, and manufacturing processes with minimal complexity and high quality;
• Demonstrated ability to lead small team projects and identify unmet needs within the department;
• Basic to moderate understanding of manufacturing equipment operations and troubleshooting skills in multiple techniques

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute laboratory work plans and schedules independently, using customer milestones and site performance standards
• Author technical documents such as protocols, batch records, test methods, technical reports, and operating procedures
• Train, coach, or mentor others on technical development or business issues
• Apply knowledge of pharmaceutics principles and related disciplines to support project design and departmental goals
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Identify and recommend business opportunities on a project-specific basis
• Execute efficiency improvement projects with moderate guidance
• Apply advanced knowledge of high-shear granulation, fluid-bed technology, roller compaction, compression, encapsulation, and coating technology
