Job summary

Petco is hiring a Junior Pet Stylist to begin a grooming career with a ten-week training program focused on bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, and safety. You will work under seasoned groomers to develop essential grooming skills and learn grooming policies for consistent service.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year animal-related experience, shelter volunteering or pet-sitting preferred
• High-school diploma or GED preferred
• Genuine passion for animals and pursuing a career in grooming
• Basic understanding of dog breeds, behavior, and grooming practices
• Capable of handling pets of all sizes with care and empathy
• Effective verbal and written communication with pet parents and team
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform limited grooming services: bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning, gland cleaning
• Ensure safety and well-being of every animal in the salon
• Interact with pet parents to provide excellent customer service and resolve inquiries
• Maintain a clean, safe grooming area and sanitize tools per Petco policies
• Schedule grooming appointments and maintain records
• Learn and adhere to Petco grooming policies and guidelines
