Petco is seeking a Junior Pet Stylist to begin grooming training and build hands‑on skills in bathing, drying, clipping, and handling pets with care. The program progresses from foundational tasks to increased productivity under seasoned groomers, with a focus on safety and client service.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year of animal related experience or volunteer work.
• High-school diploma or GED preferred.
• Genuine passion for animals and desire to work in grooming.
• Basic understanding of dog breeds, behavior, and grooming practices.
• Capable of handling pets of all sizes with care and empathy.
• Effective verbal and written communication with pet parents and team.
• Weekend, evening, and holiday availability as required.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform limited grooming services: bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning, gland cleaning.
• Ensure safety and well‑being of every animal during grooming.
• Interact professionally with pet parents and provide excellent customer service.
• Keep grooming area clean, sanitize tools, and adhere to hygiene policies.
• Schedule appointments and maintain grooming records accurately.
• Learn and follow Petco grooming policies and standards.
