Petco is seeking a Junior Pet Stylist in Grooming to start with a ten-week training program, learning bathing, drying, nail trimming, and other essential grooming tasks under experienced groomers. The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and progressive skill development.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year of animal-related experience preferred or volunteer experience
• High-school diploma or GED preferred though not required
• Genuine passion for animals and a desire to pursue a career in pet grooming
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions with pet parents and grooming team
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by the grooming schedule

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of experienced groomers, perform limited grooming services (bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning, gland cleaning) per instructions
• Ensure the well-being and safety of all animals in the salon at all times
• Interact professionally with pet parents and provide optimal customer service
• Maintain a clean and safe grooming area, sanitize tools, and perform cleaning duties as assigned
• Schedule grooming appointments and maintain accurate grooming records
• Learn and follow Petco grooming policies, standards and guidelines
