Job summary

Petco Grooming is hiring a Junior Pet Stylist. Start with a ten-week training program to learn bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and more, with guidance from seasoned groomers to build a solid foundation for your grooming career.

Essential duties include assisting in grooming, maintaining a clean salon, scheduling appointments, and delivering friendly, safe care to pets and their owners. Competitive pay, benefits, 401(k), PTO, and Petco discounts are offered.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year of animal related experience, including shelter volunteering or pet sitting, preferred
• High-school diploma or GED preferred
• Genuine passion for animals
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision of experienced groomers, perform limited grooming services including bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning according to the pet parents’ instructions and company policies
• Ensure the well-being and safety of every animal in the salon at all times
• Interact professionally with pet parents and provide optimal customer service
• Maintain a clean and safe grooming area and sanitize tools and equipment
• Schedule grooming appointments and maintain accurate grooming records
• Learn and adhere to Petco grooming policies and guidelines
