POSITION SUMMARY

We seek a talented, client-service oriented Junior Paralegal to join our Chicago office. This entry-level role prefers candidates with 1-3 years of paralegal or legal assistant experience. The position primarily supports litigation but may also assist other practice groups such as investigations and government controversies.

Ideal candidates will have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to follow directions. Overtime and travel may be required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Providing comprehensive practice support and case management.
  2. Drafting and proofreading correspondence, notices, documents, and forms.
  3. Organizing electronic and paper documents for depositions, hearings, and trials.
  4. Filing documents in various courts and jurisdictions.
  5. Conducting research as needed.
  6. Maintaining and organizing case team documents.
  7. Preparing briefs and other legal documents.
  8. Monitoring deadlines, court filings, correspondence, deposition transcripts, exhibits, and expert materials.
  9. Searching and preserving information within document review platforms.
  10. Organizing and preparing trial materials, including filings, witness prep, trial notebooks, exhibits, deposition designations, and demonstratives.
  11. Attending and assisting at trials and arbitrations.
  12. Performing other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited institution.
  • Flexibility for overtime and out-of-town travel.
  • Ability to prioritize workflow independently and efficiently.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is strongly preferred.
  • Strong proofreading, communication, and client service skills.
