Job summary

SRM Digital in St. Louis is seeking an entry-level network specialist with conceptual knowledge to install basic hardware, systems and software for network and security components.

You will document activities, prepare reports, and assist with security processes. The role includes evaluating new hardware/software, contributing to process improvements, and supporting troubleshooting and performance monitoring.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Installs basic hardware, systems and software for network and/or security components.
• Documents activities, events, materials and issues.
• Prepares system performance or configuration reports as required.
• Provides input regarding processes and procedures that will enhance effectiveness.
• Participates in the evaluation of new hardware and software packages.
• Participates in the implementation of data/system security processes including access controls, monitoring software, and generation of security reports; assists with troubleshooting network and services performance.
• Monitors network performance and implements performance tuning.
• Performs root cause analysis of simple problems and tracks and reports to supervisor.
• Helps manage and ensure quality of low risk/impact network installations or enhancements.

Builds capability to develop scripts that facilitate network administrative tasks and automate repetitive processes;

Documents activities, events, materials and issues.

Prepares system performance or configuration reports as required.

Provides input regarding processes and procedures that will enhance effectiveness.

Participates in the evaluation of new hardware and software packages;

Participates in the implementation of data/system security processes including access controls, monitoring software, and generation of security reports; Assists with troubleshooting network and services performance.

Monitors network performance and implements performance tuning;

Performs root cause analysis of simple problems and tracks and reports to supervisor;

Helps manage and ensure quality of low risk/impact network installations or enhancements (e.g., coordinating meetings, tracking budget, following up on action items);

Bachelors degree required, preferably in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or business. Will consider candidates without a degree if they have shown/demonstrated having 2+ years equivalent, relevant experience in tools, systems, and initiatives leveraged by client.
