Dunham's Sports - a Midwest specialty sporting goods retailer has an immediate opening for a full-time Junior Network Administrator to join our IT team at our corporate headquarters in Troy, MI.

***This is a full-time position. (Not Remote or Hybrid)***

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Junior Network Administrator to join our IT team. This role will involve supporting the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's network and server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in network administration, including VMware/ESXi, Fortigate Firewalls, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Extreme Wireless Networking.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the configuration, deployment, and management of Fortigate Firewalls, ensuring security policies are applied and maintained.
• Support the deployment and administration of VMware ESXi environments and vCenter.
• Assist with the configuration and management of Cisco-based switching technologies including VLANs, STP, and port‑channeling.
• Provide administrative support for Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy and DHCP configurations.
• Assist with configuring, monitoring, and managing Extreme Wireless access points and controller platforms along with wireless mobile computers (Honeywell and Zebra).
• Participate in security operations using the Trend Micro Vision One security suite.
• Troubleshoot network issues under guidance and provide solutions for ongoing network improvements.
• Maintain accurate network documentation and reporting.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of hands‑on experience in network administration or a related IT role.
• Proven competency with Fortigate firewall configuration and security policy management including FortiManager.
• Experience deploying and managing VMware ESXi and vCenter.
• Solid understanding of Cisco switching technologies (VLANs, STP, port‑channeling).
• Administrative experience with Windows Server 2016‑2025 (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).
• Familiarity with Extreme Wireless access point/controller platforms.
• Familiarity with Trend Micro Vision One security suite.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under guidance to resolve network issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong documentation habits.
• Knowledge of scripting languages for automation tasks (PowerShell, Python, Bash, RestAPI).
