Job summary

Beeline seeks a detail-oriented Junior Mortgage Underwriter in Providence, RI. You will review loan files, analyze borrower finances, and assess risk to ensure compliance with investor and agency guidelines. The role partners with processors, loan officers, and operations to move loans efficiently from application to closing.

This position offers growth in underwriting skills within a supportive, fast-paced environment and requires prior mortgage loan processing experience.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of mortgage loan processing experience
• Strong understanding of mortgage documentation and income analysis
• Familiarity with agency guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA) preferred
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Review residential mortgage loan files to determine borrower eligibility and creditworthiness
• Evaluate income, assets, credit, collateral, and documentation for lending guidelines
• Apply agency and investor guidelines to conventional, FHA, VA, and other programs
• Communicate underwriting conditions clearly to processors and operations teams
• Review updated documentation and clear conditions for final approval
• Identify risk factors and elevate complex scenarios when appropriate
• Maintain quality, accuracy, and turnaround times
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth loan process and borrower experience
