Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a Junior Modeling and Simulation Engineer/Scientist to support theory-driven modeling and simulation of complex systems in our Arlington, VA office.

The position requires a BS in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or physics and a strong interest in modeling, simulation, and software development. This is an hourly, non-exempt, part-time role with potential relocation considerations for 2027.

Qualifikationen

• BS or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
• 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
• U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain a clearance.
• Experience writing code and developing software.
• Strong interest in solving complex challenges.

Aufgaben

• Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop modeling approaches.
• Review literature and report findings to support solution development.
• Present candidate solutions to colleagues and adjust designs based on feedback.
• Contribute to technical reports and communications of technical work.
• Occasionally work independently to learn about military systems for model development.
