Job summary

Allegiance Group is seeking a Junior HVAC Estimator to support accurate, competitive estimates for commercial and high-rise residential HVAC projects. The role involves reviewing plans and specifications, quantifying materials and labour, and assisting with timely proposal delivery.

The candidate will work with experienced estimators, coordinate with project teams and vendors, and develop skills in estimating software and takeoffs while growing in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Some experience in HVAC, construction, estimating, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems and construction drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
• Strong attention to detail, organisation, and time management.
• Clear communication skills and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Assist with HVAC takeoffs, including equipment, ductwork, piping, and related materials.
• Request and compare quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
• Help prepare cost estimates, bid summaries, and proposal documents.
• Track bid deadlines, addenda, and project information.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and field teams to clarify scope.
• Maintain organised records of estimates, quotes, and project documents.
• Support handoffs to project teams when work is awarded.

Allegiance Group is partnering with a mechanical contractor specializing in commercial and high-rise residential projects to find a Junior Mechanical Estimator.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Junior HVAC Estimator to support the preparation of accurate, competitive estimates for commercial and residential HVAC projects. Working with experienced estimators and project teams, you’ll review plans and specifications, quantify materials and labour, and help ensure proposals are complete and delivered on time.

You should have:

• An interest in developing a career in HVAC estimating.
• A practical, analytical approach to reviewing plans and costs.
• Confidence asking questions and following up to resolve missing information.
• Experience with estimating or takeoff software, such as Bluebeam or PlanSwift, is an advantage.
• Familiarity with commercial or residential HVAC projects is a plus.
