Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Early Career Mechanical Engineer in Tulsa, OK. You will assist with transmission line design, data collection, and documentation for 765kV projects, using PLS-CADD and related tools.

Role emphasizes growth, QA/QC, and collaboration with field teams. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s in civil/mechanical/architectural engineering, with 0–1 year of experience, strong research skills, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Architectural Eng or closely related field.
0–1 year of post-education experience.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Familiarity with design/build processes and construction codes.
Interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic proficiency with technical writing and standard software/tools.
Willingness to travel for field work as needed.

Responsibilities

Assist with data collection from sites, surveys, GIS data, and maps for design and construction.
Engineer transmission projects up to 765kV.
Support initial project layouts and cost/schedule planning.
Contribute to QA/QC procedures and documentation.
Develop expertise in PLS-CADD, structure loading, foundations, and drawings.
Travel to field sites as required.
Perform basic civil engineering tasks and site condition inspections.
Produce clear, concise documentation from field notes and drawings.
Assist with safety guidelines and compliance requirements.
Complete assigned training and follow Code of Conduct.
