Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to support industrial and manufacturing projects from Merrillville, Indiana. You will create 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, learning how industrial systems are designed, installed, and maintained.

The role offers mentorship, exposure to site visits, and collaboration with experienced engineers and field personnel. On-site work with relocation flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 1–3 years of experience in a heavy industrial or mechanical design environment.
• SolidWorks experience (academic or professional).

Responsibilities

• Design and update mechanical equipment layouts, 3D models, and engineering drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients, and field teams on industrial and steel mill projects.
• Prepare and revise technical specifications, contract documents, and fabrication drawings for project execution.
• Review vendor submittals, equipment installations, and design documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct site visits to industrial facilities to gather field information and support construction activities.
• Manage multiple project tasks while maintaining safety and quality.
