Job summary

The Amatriot Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Junior) to support NSWC Crane with mechanical design, drafting, and documentation for marine systems. You will develop and revise drawings, perform calculations, and prepare specifications in line with drawing standards and engineering best practices.

Responsibilities include creating CAD models, cost estimates, and ship-check support, while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and Project Managers. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Engineering/Naval Architecture from ABET-accredited university.
• Experience with U.S. Navy and/or U.S. commercial ship design standards.
• Experience creating CAD models and machinery arrangements using AutoCAD.
• Experience writing technical reports, specifications, white papers, or point papers.
• Ability to write clear reports and specifications.
• Ability to interface with team members and Project Managers.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to create CAD models and machinery layouts in AutoCAD.
• Good verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support including specification writing, design development, mechanical calculations, outfitting design, and related activities.
• Support development of marine drawings and technical work items.
• Prepare cost estimates and support ship checks.
• Develop technical work documents in accordance with drawing standards.
• Support Selected Record Drawing updates.
• Generate CAD drawings for mechanical systems and outfitting.
• Draft detailed multi-view drawings of machinery spaces, systems, assemblies, and products.
• Learn and apply applicable drafting standards.
