Job summary

Schneider is seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer in Green Bay to provide technical support to internal associates and be a point of contact for suppliers regarding equipment and system opportunities. The Entry Level Mechanical Engineer will work on and test technical equipment projects to enhance the quality and safety of Schneider’s fleet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• At least 1 year of engineering experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of truck mechanical and technical systems is expected.
• Hands-on experience with Class 8 equipment is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Test and develop parts and components.
• Review performance with suppliers and take corrective action when needed.
• Provide technical equipment support to maintenance leaders, engineering, operations and drivers.
• Research new/alternative products and recommend value-added options.
• Assist diagnostics with shop leaders and technicians.
• Coach on best-value cost decisions for major repairs to reduce downtime.
