Job summary

KBR is seeking an entry-level Associate Mechanical Engineer within its Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) to contribute to the Mechanical Department by learning technical skills and delivering value on customer projects.

You will gain practical experience, work with senior engineers on specs, perform design calculations, and participate in site meetings while building skills in mechanical design, safety practices, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• 0-5 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally
• Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams, SharePoint), Documentum, AutoCAD, and Adobe Pro
• Exposure to programming (any language) is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and prioritization
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Problem-solving and proactive approach
• Attention to detail and accurate documentation

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, health and environmental compliance per plan
• Assist with specifications, datasheets, and requisitions
• Perform design calculations for pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, and rotating equipment
• Propose ideas and document workflow improvements
• Attend customer site meetings and field walkdowns; cross-train with other disciplines
• Communicate and resolve technical issues with project teams
• Ensure project documentation is complete and controlled
