Job summary

Dewberry is seeking an entry-level mechanical engineer for our Fairfax, VA office. You’ll join a growing team of professional engineers working on innovative facility projects, with opportunities to contribute to HVAC-focused design and related analyses.

The role requires a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and 0–2 years of experience. CAD and Revit are preferred, and strong communication and teamwork are essential to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 0-2 years of experience.
• Experience in HVAC is preferred.
• Communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to coordinate the work of multiple disciplines.
• Ability to prepare mechanical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications, project schedules and cost estimates to meet project requirements.
• Proficiency in CAD, Revit preferred and good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel required.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and analysis for new multi-building facilities and retrofit projects.
• Assist with laboratory, mission critical, and energy conservation studies and related reports.
• Support coordination across disciplines and preparation of drawings and specifications.
• Participate in project schedules and cost estimates as part of project delivery.
