Job summary

SMS group is seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer I in Pittsburgh to begin your career after graduation. You will design, develop, and support advanced mechanical equipment used in metals-processing facilities, with graduation target December 2025 or May 2026.

You will create 3D models and drawings, perform design calculations, assist with equipment selection and procurement, and collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Fundamental knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
• Creo CAD experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and revise 3D models, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Support equipment layouts, feasibility studies, reports, and calculations.
• Apply principles of statics, strength of materials, power transmission, and machine design.
