Job summary

Rangeline Group is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Drafter to support the design and fabrication of metal parts and assemblies used in water and wastewater infrastructure. You will produce detailed CAD drawings and collaborate with engineers, shop personnel, and field teams to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning of fabrication methods, CAD proficiency, and adherence to Rangeline standards. Office is Fort Worth, TX with on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical certificate, or coursework in Mechanical Drafting, CAD, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology preferred.
• Basic proficiency with CAD software, with experience in both 2D drafting and 3D modeling.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, fabrication, assembly, and pipeline drawings.
• Basic understanding of dimensions, tolerances, scales, weld symbols, and mechanical drawing conventions.
• Familiarity with materials commonly used in fabrication and welding processes is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models of reinforcement components, pressure-containing assemblies, and other fabricated products with accurate dimensions and weld requirements.
• Create and revise drawings based on sketches, field measurements, engineering direction, and project requirements.
• Prepare bills of materials, cut lists, weldment lists, and part lists as required.
• Apply basic dimensioning, tolerancing, drafting, and GD&T principles to drawings.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, manufacturability, fit-up, and alignment with project requirements.
• Assist with field measurements and verification of piping components and site conditions.
• Develop knowledge of water and wastewater piping systems and applicable standards.
• Perform other drafting and design-related duties.
