Job summary

ENFRA is seeking a Mechanical Designer I to support HVAC and mechanical system designs under the direction of senior Designers, Engineers, and Design Managers. This role targets graduates and early-career designers building foundational skills for hospital and college campus projects.

You will assist with drawing production, equipment schedules, system layouts, calculations, field surveys, and documentation while learning codes and project delivery expectations. Travel 10-25% will be required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• 1+ years of experience with building construction, especially MEP systems.
• Developing technical understanding of HVAC systems and building infrastructure.
• Ability to follow direction and manage tasks.
• Detail-oriented with willingness to learn and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop HVAC drawings, plans, sections, details, and schedules using Revit, AutoCAD, or other design platforms.
• Assist with basic HVAC load calculations, ventilation calculations, equipment sizing, and system takeoffs.
• Support senior staff in layout of ductwork, piping, terminal units, diffusers, grilles, equipment, and mechanical room components.
• Implements system configurations and control schemes prepared by others with emphasis on long-term energy savings.
• Coordinate basic design information with architectural, structural, plumbing, electrical, and controls disciplines.
