Job summary

Assurance Technology Corporation (ATC) based in Carlisle, MA, seeks an early-career Mechanical Designer for its Advanced Solutions Group. This role offers hands-on hardware experience, mentorship from senior engineers, and real responsibilities in sensing systems for space, airborne, and terrestrial applications.

You will work with a cross-functional team to develop models, drawings, and documentation, growing toward ownership of subsystems as you learn and contribute.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or a related technical field
• 3D CAD tools exposure through coursework or projects
• GD&T familiarity is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork
• Willingness to work hands-on in a lab or shop

Responsibilities

• Support the design and modeling of mechanical components, assemblies, and enclosures for sensors used in aerospace and defense applications
• Create and update detailed 3D models and drawings under guidance of senior engineers
• Collaborate with Systems, Electrical, RF, and Firmware engineers to support electronics systems design
• Prepare documentation for design reviews, tolerance analyses, and manufacturing drawings
• Assist with mechanical integration, assembly, and testing of hardware in the lab
• Support environmental qualification and verification activities with hands-on test equipment
• Learn from mentors and grow into greater project ownership
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas
