Hatch Ltd. seeks a dynamic Junior Mechanical/Piping Engineer to support global offices from our Tampa, FL location. You will contribute to mechanical design, piping systems, and hydraulic analysis while gaining hands-on experience on multi-disciplinary projects.

Ideal candidates are recent graduates with a degree in mechanical engineering, a 3.0 GPA, and a willingness to travel as needed. This is an in-office role with mentorship and growth opportunities within Hatch’s PDG.

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge in mechanical design, stress analysis and hydraulic system design.
  • Perform Digital Project Delivery of Mechanical and Piping Engineering functions within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Support site field visits to obtain information and data for projects.
  • Support equipment identification, sizing, layout and vendor reviews.
  • Assist piping system design activities including PFD/P&ID development and material specs.

Hatch is seeking a dynamic Junior Mechanical/Piping Engineer. Reporting to the Project Delivery Group, you will support offices globally working from our Tampa, FL office location.

Qualifications:
  • Roles at this level are filled by recent or soon to be university/college graduates with little or no professional experience but possessing relevant skills
  • Preferred bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
As the successful candidate, you will:
  • Develop knowledge in mechanical design, stressanalysisand hydraulic system design, while developing new skills
  • Perform Digital Project Delivery of Mechanical and Piping Engineering functions within multi-disciplinary teams across established and emerging industries and markets
  • Support site field visits to obtain information and data to support projects
  • Support equipment identification and selection activities, including sizing, layout, technical specifications, and vendor information reviews
  • Support piping system design activities, such as hydraulic analysis, process flow diagram (PFD) development, piping, and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) development, material specification development, stress analysis, and layout
  • Support population of information and attributes into the data-centric project environment
  • Interface with vendors throughout the design and procurement process
  • Support direct interface with the client throughout the project duration
  • Adhere to and promote the Hatch corporate safety culture

  • Available to travel, as needed, to help support global business
  • Previous co-op or internship experience is an asset
