Job summary

Specialty Systems, Inc. seeks a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to join our team supporting advanced unmanned air systems at NAS Patuxent River, MD.

You will apply modern systems engineering practices using model-based approaches in a collaborative, mission-focused environment. The position involves system architecture development, modeling, and documentation across disciplines, with a hands-on role in ensuring designs are well-defined, integrated, and aligned with mission objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics).
• Basic understanding of SysML, UML, or similar modeling language.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities using commercial MBSE tools.
• Assist in developing and maintaining system models using SysML, UML, or similar modeling languages.
• Contribute to system and subsystem specifications and technical documentation.
• Support requirements development, traceability, and verification activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including engineering, cybersecurity, and logistics teams.
• Participate in technical and design reviews.
