Job summary

New England Chimney services is seeking a Mason Apprentice to join our team. The Mason Apprentice will assist experienced masons with the construction and repair of brick, stone, concrete, and masonry structures while learning the trade.

The candidate should be eager to learn, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team to complete projects safely and on time. The role focuses on practical training, working outdoors in varied weather, and adhering to safety guidelines

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Willingness to learn the masonry trade and work safely.
• Ability to lift/move heavy objects; good manual dexterity.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction and repair of walls, chimneys, fireplaces, and masonry structures.
• Mix, apply, and spread mortar and other adhesives.
• Carry, load, and unload bricks, stone, tools, and materials.
• Cut and prepare materials for installation under supervision.
• Operate and maintain hand tools and equipment safely.
• Keep job sites clean, organized, and hazard-free.
• Follow company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
• Perform other tasks as requested.

Mason Apprentice Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous construction or labor experience preferred but not required
• Willingness to learn the masonry trade
