Job summary

General Dynamics IT (GDIT) is seeking a Junior Painter for our Norfolk, VA location to service interior and exterior surfaces. You will mix paints, apply coatings with brushes, rollers, or sprayers, and prepare surfaces for finish.

Requires 1–3 years of related painting experience and a High School Diploma or GED. US citizenship is not required. The role emphasizes NAVSEA standards and may involve special projects with a 40-hour work week onsite.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of related painting experience.
• Experience following NAVSEA standards where applicable.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED completed.

Responsibilities

• Paints, stains, enamels, varnishes and redecorates interior and exterior surfaces.
• Mixes paint and matches colors to achieve desired color.
• Applies coatings using cloth, brushes, sprayer, roller or sponges.
• Removes old finish using scrapers or chemical compounds.
• Requisitions new painting supplies and equipment.
