Job summary

HI-LEX North America in Michigan is seeking an entry-level Machinist I to machine and fabricate parts to print and direction. You will work with engineering and other machinists to develop products and habits that meet company standards.

A high school diploma is required; you should be able to read engineering drawings and use calipers and micrometers. Basic knowledge of measuring equipment and materials is expected, with 2 years experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read complex engineering drawings preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electricity and measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develops and fabricates parts, fixtures, and assemblies using metal forming, machining and joining equipment.
• Demonstrates listening/learning skills.
• Exhibits good communication for personal development and team improvement.
• Fabricates, builds, assembles, verifies and maintains test fixture setups.
• Performs dimensional and material inspections as needed.
• Assembles prototype products meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements.
• Promotes a constructive associate relations environment aligned with long-term objectives.
• Possesses a mechanical background.
• Performs other duties as necessary.
• Supports 4S initiatives.
