Overview

The Junior Lawyer/Director of Transactions will manage and oversee the legal and operational aspects of contracts across the firm's real estate portfolio. This role ensures contracts are prepared, executed, stored, and monitored in accordance with company policy, legal requirements, and best practices. They will work closely with internal teams and outside counsel to support the drafting, review, and administration of contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with outside counsel to draft, review, and revise lease agreements, purchase and sale agreements, deeds, financing documents, and service contracts.
  • Maintain organized contract records and ensure accessibility for stakeholders.
  • Conduct due diligence on property titles, zoning, and environmental issues.
  • Coordinate closings, prepare closing checklists, review settlement statements, and ensure documents are complete.
  • Monitor contract terms, track milestones, and ensure obligations are met.
  • Manage lease abstracts, amendments, estoppels, and tenant communications.
  • Assist with corporate governance filings and compliance.
  • Prepare regular contract status and performance reports.
Qualifications
  • 5-10+ years of contract administration or legal support experience (paralegal background ideal). Strong understanding of real estate transactions and corporate governance.
  • Certification in Contract Management (CPCM, CCCM) or Certified Real Estate Paralegal (CRP) a plus.
  • JD is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in commercial/industrial real estate required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management software (Yardi preferred).
