Job summary

The Rock-It Company in Inwood, NY is hiring for a Jr Operations Agent (JFK) to join our JFK Logistics & Operations team. The full-time role supports domestic and international transportation for live performance tours, coordinating routes, documentation, and deadlines from our JFK office.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in freight forwarding, a degree or equivalent experience, and a customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of freight forwarding experience; live event import/export experience preferred.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent industry or military experience.
• Basic knowledge of freight forwarding, including air export operations.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service and vendor relationship management skills.
• Proficiency with basic Excel functions and the ability to quickly learn new software.
• Willingness to travel and participate in on-call rotations.
• Ability to successfully complete the company's pre-employment background screening, consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Responsibilities

• Assist the operations department in researching best routes and making bookings for domestic and international freight shipments
• Coordinate domestic and international import/export shipments via all modes of transport: air, trucking and ocean
• Review client manifests and prepare transportation documents
• Cultivate and maintain customer and vendor relationships
• Work closely with carriers, shippers, and consignees to ensure deadlines are met
• Other duties related to client projects, as assigned
