Job summary

Enbridge Inc. is seeking a Junior Java Developer to support and enhance applications serving GTM Commercial Marketing, Business Development, and Customer Service Operations.

You will design, develop, implement, and support critical business applications, including LINK®, in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You will work with Java, web services, CSS, XML/XSLT, HTML, JUnit, and Oracle SQL across an N-tier architecture, applying object-oriented programming and design patterns while

Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, along with 2 or more years of web application development experience.
  • You have hands-on development experience with technologies such as Java, web services, CSS, XML/XSLT, HTML, JUnit, and Oracle SQL.
  • Experience developing and implementing web applications using N-tier architecture, along with knowledge of object-oriented programming, Spring framework, data structures and algorithms, multithreading, synchronization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, source code management, unit testing, and preferably Agile development practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Effective communication to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences; customer-service mindset.
  • Self-motivated and collaborative, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, test, debug, and support software solutions for GTM commercial business applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Partner with business users to understand functional and data requirements, assess existing processes, and recommend effective technology solutions.
  • Independently lead the design, development, implementation, and testing of moderately complex software solutions while managing increasingly challenging technical assignments.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, and functionality, and drive the resolution of technical issues with guidance from senior team members as required.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA analysts, business partners, and other cross-functional teams to align solution designs, clarify requirements, prevent defects, and support successful implementation.
  • Serve as a technical resource for new team members by providing guidance on development environments, standards, processes, and architecture.
  • Support business and client priorities by ensuring development activities and solutions align with business needs and outcomes.

What You Will Do:

Who You Are:
  • University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, along with 2 or more years of web application development experience.
  • You have hands-on development experience with technologies such as Java, web services, CSS, XML/XSLT, HTML, JavaScript, JUnit, and Oracle SQL.
  • Experience developing and implementing web applications using N-tier architecture, along with knowledge of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, Spring framework, data structures and algorithms, multithreading, synchronization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, source code management, unit testing, and preferably Agile development practices.
  • You bring strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Preferred:

Broad knowledge of programming languages and techniques such as JSON, ORM, C#, IIS, ASP. Net Experience with DevOps CI/CD and automated test execution experience with tools such as GIT, Azure DevOps, Ansible Experience with IT operations, automation, Cloud computing, and monitoring and logging Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws, as well as industry specific regulations, such as NAESB, FERC, SOX, etc. Proficiency using Agile methodology is prefered.

Working Conditions:

Typical office environment Physical Requirements include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time. Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Salary:

Ranges from $70,000 – $105,000 USD for US locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity. Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
