As an Advisor IT Systems Advisor on our Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) Systems team, you will provide systems analysis, application support, and business-facing guidance across our suite of commercial trading applications. You will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to translate needs into clear requirements, support demand prioritization, and help deliver effective technology solutions. Your expertise will help strengthen the systems and processes supporting commodity trading, risk management, treasury, and related business activities.

What You Will Do

• Partner with business stakeholders to capture and translate ideas, enhancements, defects, requirements, objectives, and expected outcomes into clear demand items for the ETRM Systems team.
• Support demand and portfolio prioritization by assessing business value, urgency, readiness, dependencies, and alignment with priorities, while maintaining and refining the backlog as needs evolve.
• Develop clear requirements, specifications, acceptance criteria, and test cases, collaborating with business analysts, subject matter experts, delivery teams, vendors, and other TIS partners as required.
• Coordinate enhancements, releases, infrastructure changes, production readiness, and operational support activities across business, delivery, vendor, and TIS support teams.
• Monitor delivery progress, communicate status and outcomes, and proactively elevate risks, blockers, production issues, or other concerns through established support and governance channels.
• Document operational standards and processes, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and recommend practical enhancements to systems, processes, service practices, and ways of working.

Who You Are

• Related university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline, or a two-year technical diploma with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4 or more years of progressively responsible experience in IT support, systems analysis, business analysis, demand management, project coordination, technology delivery, or a related field.
• Practical knowledge of Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM), commodity or financial derivative marketing, risk control, marketing accounting, or related commercial and risk management processes.
• Experience supporting enterprise technology solutions and applying capabilities such as requirements analysis, process and systems analysis, testing, implementation, operational support, and project coordination.
• You are a strong analytical thinker and relationship builder with demonstrated communication, collaboration, negotiation, and influencing skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders.
• You demonstrate strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing demands, solve complex problems, adapt to changing priorities, and drive work through to completion.

Preferred

• Advanced education or professional credentials in quantitative finance, risk management, financial engineering, applied mathematics, commodity trading, or energy marketing are considered an asset.
• Experience with Openlink, Egistix Oil, Kyriba, ZEMA, K3, FEA, ICE, Bloomberg, S&P, Argus, Platts, or related commodity trading and risk management platforms.
• Experience supporting physical and financial commodities, structured transactions, treasury instruments, environmental products, and cross-commodity trading portfolios.
• Experience supporting or contributing to strategic initiatives such as platform upgrades, cloud migrations, market data modernization, new commodity onboarding, mergers and acquisitions integration, managed service transitions, or business transformation programs.

Working Conditions

This role operates in a highly collaborative office and virtual environment, with regular interaction with stakeholders across multiple Enbridge locations and occasional travel to support business engagement, workshops, project delivery, or strategic initiatives. The work supports business-critical and often time-sensitive trading, treasury, valuation, risk management, settlement, accounting, and financial reporting activities. Flexibility may occasionally be required to support production incidents, major releases, month-end activities, new business launches, or other critical operational and organizational initiatives.

Physical Requirements

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office)

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Salary

Ranges from $82,000 – $120,000 USD for US locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity. Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
